The Female Gaze (Purple)

This print of the Lavender & Teal edition of my “The Female Gaze” Medusa acrylic on canvas set of 4 paintings features empowered Medusa in heart-shaped glasses (each piece in the set has glasses painted the same color red) alongside the phrase, “Petrifying the Patriarchy Since 700 B.C.,” this image flips classical mythology into something playful, fearless, and unapologetically powerful. The vibrant lavender background paired with rich teal tones creates a striking contrast designed to instantly energize a space and command attention on a gallery wall. I wanted this piece to feel bold, witty, rebellious, and empowering all at once, like modern feminist icons reimagined through contemporary pop-surreal fine art.

This is a print of a painting where every brushstroke, layer of color, and line was painted by hand by me. My background and education in art, along with years devoted to refining my craft shaped this piece from start to finish, with a strong focus on expressive composition, color harmony, and gallery-quality presentation.
