The Female Gaze (Purple)

This Lavender & Teal edition of my “The Female Gaze” Medusa series was completely hand-painted by me with care, intention, and years of artistic training poured into every detail. I wanted this piece to feel bold, witty, rebellious, and empowering all at once, like modern feminist icons reimagined through contemporary pop-surreal fine art.

Featuring empowered Medusa in heart-shaped glasses alongside the phrase, “Petrifying the Patriarchy Since 700 B.C.,” this painting flips classical mythology into something playful, fearless, and unapologetically powerful. The rich lavender background paired with rich teal tones creates a striking contrast designed to instantly energize a space and command attention on a gallery wall.

Every brushstroke, layer of color, and line was painted by hand by me. My background and education in art, along with years devoted to refining my craft shaped this piece from start to finish, with a strong focus on expressive composition, color harmony, and gallery-quality presentation.

The original canvas is professionally framed in a satin black floater frame handcrafted from natural wood by artisans in America. The floating frame design slightly suspends the canvas away from the moulding so the painted edges remain visible, creating a timeless museum-style presentation.
